A new musical composition by Michael Rooney, inspired by the coming of the French to County Sligo in 1798,  will be performed by thirty of Sligo and Leitrim’s finest young musicians at the John Egan Festival opening concert on Friday October 18th. Many of the musicians performing the suite form part of the CCE Fred Finn Summer Seisiúin Group and are members of the U-18 Fred Finn Ceili Band.
